The following changes have been made in Now Toolbox 4.0.1/4.0.1p:
• Now Toolbox now loads at the same time as other extensions, so as to allow security and virus extensions to load before it does. In order to ensure that it loads early in the startup process, Now Toolbox now has two (2) spaces before its name; however, an extension or control panel which requires “first-load” status can be made to load before Now Toolbox 4.0.1p simply by typing spaces at the front of its name so that it comes before Now Toolbox alphabetically. Items configured to load before Now Toolbox will not be recognized or controllable by Startup Manager, and as a result they will not be listed in the Startup Manager control panel.
• Now Toolbox is now much more selective about the files it keeps track of. (Now Toolbox keeps the database of recently-accessed files which is used by NowMenus and Super Boomerang.)
• Now Toolbox now reads the version 3.0 "MultiMaster Prefs" file, if present, to create its initial database of files.
• Now Toolbox 4.0.1p no longer requires the presence of the System 7 Tuner 1.1.1 in order to load at startup. However, we recommend that this extension be used, since it was developed by Apple to correct problems in System 7.0 and 7.0.1.
• Compatibility problems with Quark Xpress and Aldus Freehand have been resolved.
• Displays folders that reside on AppleShare volumes. You are now able to add Permanent Folders to menus that reside on AppleShare volumes.
• Properly creates and opens more than one workset. Now Toolbox will no longer open the first workset no matter how you try to open more recent worksets.
